One of the best parts of working with our rescue partners is being able to see all the faces being saved on a daily basis.
The only thing better than that is the adoption stories. Knowing that those dogs will spend the rest of their days happy and loved.
Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge gave us a big update of adoptions from their involvement in the February rescue challenge with Petbarn.
All these lives were saved and given the chance to find a new home because of the tireless work of Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge, their volunteers, foster carer's and the donations from initiatives like the rescue challenge that keep the doors open.
Sherbie a 2 year old Dalmatian x was saved from the pound late last week and found himself a forever home almost straight away!
A lovely couple are on their 3rd rescue pup having adopted 2 others from SCARS, their last dog passed away late last year after a glorious 9 years with them.
They have the experience with rescue dogs and are going to be giving Sherbie a wonderful life.
Freckles was lucky enough to come in from the pound and into foster care in early Febuary.
Her foster carer is up to about her 100th puppy!
One afternoon, Freckle's foster carer was popping in to the shelter for her to have a quick check over before being listed for adoption.
A lovely young family spied her as they walked in the front gate – it was love at first sight! They had already made a decision as a family that they wanted to rescue a dog and give them a second chance.
Freckles was indeed lucky and now lives in a lovely home with kids and a fur brother😊
Indi was a 13.5 year sweet senior Staffy girl looking for her retirement home.
She was adopted by a lovely older couple who adopted Missy from SCARS in December 2022 and wanted to offer another old dog the chance to be spoilt in their retirement years.
They saw a post about her and wanted to help another dog in need and came straight in for Indi. She will now spend the rest of her days very spoilt and loved.
Cindy has gone from pound to palace!
She certainly fell on her paws when Tracey and Ren adopted her! After spending a few weeks in care with SCARS until adopted in mid-February.
SCARS received this beautiful update from her adopters a week after she went home with them.
‘Hi everyone, Cindy has settled in so well!. She’s absolutely perfect for us both. She loves her new home and is being very spoilt and loved. She loves her walks and we take her to the beach which she adores.
She loves the water and is so well behaved. Words cant describe how much we love her already.’
We reckon Cindy struck gold!
