Did you know that many of our 285 rescue partners save dogs and puppies from rural and remote areas?
With limited positive outcomes in these areas, most of these souls wouldn't stand a chance, but some shining lights are making a difference in the background, saving hundreds of lives a year.
One such superstar is Wizzy who runs Rural Outback Animal rescue (ROAR) in Cobar, NSW. Wizzy and her team save countless lives from remote pounds and bring them to her country shelter before sending them off to other rescues with the help of Rural Pound Aid, where they have the best chance of finding their forever homes.
So many dogs adopted from our rescue partners in NSW, VIC, SA, and QLD have passed through ROAR's kennels. With some regional pounds only having 2-3 kennels, impounded dogs run out of time very quickly, but once they are with ROAR they have all the time they need until a rescue group can free up space to take them on.
ROAR has extremely limited funds coming in, with no adoption fees and such a remote location for fundraising, so when we found out about the extensive repairs needed at the kennels we knew we had to help.
We awarded ROAR with a grant of $24,000 to pay for all new kennel fencing, poles and mesh, along with another $5,000 to go towards any vet costs needed for the dogs before they reach our rescue partners.
Every time you choose SavourLife for your dog you are directly helping rescue groups just like ROAR - thank you!
